October 21, 2013

Tamara was able to get on with Davey on Monday. Below is their conversation:

I love you all so much i am online emailing right now!

Hey! This is mom. How are you doing?

 great how are you doing?

I'm at work right now and will try to write you back (in between calls). I was asked to talk about you in relief society... and again I cried. I guess I cry because I am so proud of you! I told them about your baseball game that you told the people if you won then they had to go to church. I also told them how you will give us a challenge to work on for the next week, like when you challenged us to know more about the atonement or to read the conference talks and then challenge us to share the gospel.

ah no way that is awesome ha i love ya so much how is the family and moving and how are the boys?

I am having someone over to take pics of the home tomorrow. Things are going good, I do feel overwhelmed sometimes, but keep reminding myself that I can do it and to take a day at a time. Tonight is really busy... Brayden has a football party and Chase has a Student Body video project that they are making.
mom your amazing truely you are so strong and just amazing and shoot it sounds like a fun night!

What size of pants do you wear? no clue im not that smart...32in waist?

Ok, are you a large in shirts/jackets?

 yup

Also, do you have any more thoughts on what you would like me to talk about for December? The bishop has asked me to take a few minutes to talk about you and what you are doing. Any words of wisdom? How are you doing? are you still tired? How can I help you with that?

ha no i am dong great mom i don't really know what you want me to tell you to say haha i am sorry i am doing awesome i love it out here ya i am tired but thats just because i am always working ha

I'm glad you are doing so good and you are loving being a missionary. Will you be sending your weekly? I am excited to read about your week. I love you so much! Enjoy your week!!

 He sent some pictures too:
In the tunnels (he didn't say what tunnels, we assume under a church)

Empty Mailbox

And here is his weekly report:

So this past week has been great we have had zone conference which was really good and we have just had a lot of lessons with investigators and have set 2 baptismal dates one for the 27th of October his name is armondo and he wants to serve a mission he is 21 years old and i found him while talking to people on the street and the other for Nov. 9th his name is adrian and wants him and his family to go to the celestial kingdom he is 18 years old it is going to be so sweet to see these people get baptized! I was asked to give a talk in sacrament meeting about having a christlike life so i talked about humility the christlike attribute i loved learning about it so much then speaking to the youth about how they can repent and become better! The Christlike attributes are so important to develop always try to develop them and improve them. I started reading the Book of Mormon again and dang i love it so much i learn something new everytime but thats not what is important its when i apply the things that i have studied in my personal reading into my daily life thats when i start seeing myself change and being better. So sorry it is not very long this week we are doing president interviews right now so i don't know how much time i have so i love you all and i love being a missionary! Chase and brayden strive everyday to touch someone new you meet and lift them up, be a light to all and always stand strong in your belifs and standards. be a leader to all you meet but don't be prideful always humble i love you boys your awesome and you better be working out if you are going to beat me at anything when i get home! ;) love your brother and son Elder Moss

Davey got on and emailed a thread with Mom and Dad.

Dad:
Mom is at work and the boys are at school.  I am the only one home.  I came home this weekend because it is Columbus day today and I got tomorrow off since Sunday and Monday are my regular days off.  So, I got off work Saturday and drove down and arrived at 7pm and I don't have to work until Wednesday at 3pm so I am going to drive back to SLC on Wednesday morning after everyone leaves for school.

nice! so when are you all moving up north and what is all happening with that? how are the boys doing?

We are not even going to start looking for a house or plan a move until we sell the houses, at least the Ivins house.  They boys seem to be doing well.  Mom is awesome and is doing a good job as Mom and Dad.

well that is great to hear i pray for you all the time!

How are you feeling about all this?

haha i am totally fine with it! it will be weird tho not gonna lie i love St. George and if i was home i wouldn't want to leave. i am just thinking it will be hard for chase but he is strong so i know he will be fine.

McKay Kennedy gave his homecoming yesterday and after Bishop Hurt stood up next to him and said, "It is hard when your parents move while you're out on a mission but it happens a lot, my parents even moved while I was out and I was fine, everyone else does fine, so you'll do fine too."

Brayden is playing in the Pumpkin Bowl today for the championship.  His team is the only undefeated team so hopefully they will stay that way and win tonight.

ha i know i will. and shoot no way that is so sweet tell him i say good luck and to go play his hardest and to sack the QB for me!

I will tell him.  Are you writing a weekly letter for us?

yes

Oh good.  You are pretty popular so you need to keep writing good letters.  I have put 50 posts on your blog since you left and I went in and looked and there has been 3086 page views of your blog since you left.  Obviously, some of those are us, maybe 100-200 or so but the rest are other family and friends - that seems like quite a few don't you think?

psh not really there is work that could be done to boost that number

ha ha, well then you need to put in the work to boost it.

well thats the hard part!

So, you haven't said much about your new companion.  He is, I assume, a zone leader too and an experienced missionary?  How is it going with him and the work?

he is awesome and very good we are still trying to get everything settelled we are going to be moving apartments soon so we are disorganized and it is driving me crazy we also need to be essential with our time more i feel but that is about it so far

So, you said he is from Vernal.  Does he Elk Hunt.  Grandpa told me that when he gets off his mission he wants to do one more elk hunt and get an elk.  He told me I need to find someone to take us so that he can get an elk before he gets too old.

yup he hunts a lot he says he has horses if you want to use them also and that he would take you out hunting definitely

When does he get home?  Grandpa and you get done at about the same time in 2015.  I think that fall for the Elk hunt we should plan on it, October 2015 Elk Hunt in Vernal.

he gets home next year in january

Oh, so he is going to be done a year before you then, he will probably be your companion till he goes home and you will send him home then.

Oh, your letter reminded me to tell you that Brayden has been doing missionary work.  He has invited a couple of friends to come to church with him and it looks like they are going to come.

Weekly Letter:
Week in the field harvesting souls!
I love being a missionary so much i have grown more than you can imagine i love it! so some fun thing that happened this week umm just basically one thing we went to the burnetts for dinner and long story short i got SMASHED by a cake in my face! ahh it stunk so bad haha

Well we are teaching this kid named Armondo and set a baptismal date with him for the 26th so that was really cool he wants to serve a mission so that is really sweet. but not really a whole lot besides that has happened this week just been busy and i am always tired! but it is good one of my favorite things is just seeing miracles as i talk to everyone (i know i talk about this a lot) but really we meet crazy people and have hard experiences but then really cool spiritual one as well i love it so much. I have been studying christlike attributes this week and i also started the Book of Mormon i love the gospel so much and more importantly we as people do not understand the Atonement as much as we should i love my savior i challenge you this week to study in depth Jesus Christ's Atonement really learning to internalize it into our lives. The church is true i love it and live it everyday don't take advantage of how lucky you are to be members. Share the gospel share it everyday it is one thing to read your scriptures and that is a great thing you should be doing it everyday but also along with the while we read the scriptures apply what you learn and share it with others! Here are two quotes from gordon b hinckly that i found this week that i love: "Be true to who you are and the family name you bear." "You have not failed until you quit trying."
I love you so much Stand as Example always
Love Elder Moss

Mom:
Hey Davey I don't have much time, but wanted to let you know how much fun I had with the Burnetts - Rachael and Sister Burnett!  They are such good people and I am so grateful that they help the missionaries as much as they do.
Rachael talked the most about you.  She is so sweet and you can tell she has such a strong testimony of the gospel.
They both told me a story about you and kept saying what a gentleman you are.

what story?

About when you ran to get the mom's inhaler when she was having an athsma attack.

oh ya that was crazy i will tell you what i am fat cuz when that happened i was out of breath! ha normally i wouldn't have been!

They said that you always say that you are fat and you have lost your 6 pack.  I showed them a lot of pictures of you, even baby ones.

oh shoot mom like what ones!? haha your so silly i love ya!

My favorite baby picture, they all went Ohhhh- so cute.  I showed him pics of you at the lake and on dances.  Rachael said she liked the white tux.  What is the moms name?
Rachael also said she would send some pics she would be taking and a dvd.  Tell here she can email them or go to facebook and look me up.

Jennie is her name and aalright i will

Also,  If you have a little bit of time I forwarded Alec's first email.  He is struggling a little with being homesick!  Maybe you could give him some words of advise that might help him.  Tonya, of course, is worried about him.

i already did mom ;)

You are the best....  don't let that get to your head.
Have you made your famous chocolate chip cookies for the Burnetts?

no not yet ha i don't have time!

I love talking to you!!  I'm glad that you are doing well and you are keeping busy.  I know you are more busy now that you have more leadership things to do.
Did you get my goodie basket?

yes i did i loved it haha so much thanks mom for it!

What do you want for Christmas... I need some ideas

well i would like a  jacket, i have one now but i want a smaller one like light weight just solid black and a khaki pant. but really i dont' know haha

What type of a jacket? A fleece jacket, wind breaker, or rain jacket?
What size of pants?

October 7, 2013

Tamara was communicating with the Burnett's from Davey's mission.  The Burnett's are a family that feeds Davey on a regular basis and also does his laundry for him once a week.  They contacted her (Davey gave them her phone number) when they were here to watch conference.  On their way home they stopped by our home and visited with Tamara for a minute.  Tamara put me on speaker phone so I could visit also and I immediately heard Tamara crying and thanking sister Burnett for taking care of Davey.  While the Burnett's were at our house, I noticed Davey get on the email.  Tamara quickly took a picture with them and sent it to him.

hey how are ya this fine day?

We are so very very good today.  Sis. Burnett is at our house right now.

haha that is super funny!

Did you meet any of the missionaries that were at the airport with Grandma and Grandpa?

ya one of them said they saw them it was awesome

Did you see the picture of Mom with the Burnetts?

haha ya i did it was awesome!

Is mom typing to you?  She might have had to go to work.  I am just not seeing anything from her?

i don't know i don't think she is

Well we will just wait for your weekly letter and give you time to do that.  I wish I was home to meet the Burnetts.

bro burnett is awesome as well but he wasnt' with them he is the one that you would like a lot.

I didn't hear his voice on the phone or see him in the picture, so that makes sense.

Yesterday we went over to Teri's house and watch conference and ate breakfast lunch and dinner, it was very fun. Grandma and Grandpa drove up yesterday and ate dinner with us after conference. Grandpa is in surgery right now over the Riverton hospital I'm going to get dressed in a minute and run over and see him. He asked me to give him a blessing last night, which I did, so your faith and prayers would be requested.

defenantly i will keep him in my prayers i sent the weekly letter let me know if you got it

Yeah I got it I haven't read it yet though.   mom gave some chocolate chips to the Burnett's. She said that the next time you're over they would have to have you make them chocolate chip cookies. That you know it from memory. But mom said to give you the recipe so you can memorize it to make sure you know it before you go over there.
3 cube soft butter
2 c white sugar
2 c Brown sugar
Cream together
Add 2 eggs
2 tea vanilla
2 tea soda
1 tea salt
4.5 c flour (maybe a little more)
Chocolate chips

haha nice! well shoot dad i love you so much and i keep you and the family in my prayers all the time i have to get going now love you
Elder Moss

Love you too.  I do the same for you.  Have a great week.

Hey all of ya'll!

Shoot it has been super great this past week we have had a bunch of leadership meeting and just have been receiving revelation like crazy! I love this work more than anything it is truly the greatest to be apart of. Our zone is doing really well today we are planing on going bowling so that should be fun! i have been lagging on taking pictures i know i am sorry so hopefully today i will be able to remember. Elder Oldham and i have been busy as the zone leaders with a lot of meetings but i am proud to say we are having a competition of scaring each other every night haha it is fun and brings back some fun memories!

We have seen some pretty cool miracles this week after the saturday first session of conference we had a less active member and her non member brother and there friends challenged us to a baseball game so we accepted only on the condition that if we beat them then they had to come to church haha and so we played and it was the first team to get to 15 points wins and so we start and haha well long story short we beat them 15 to 0 haha so they are coming to church next week! ha then a different story we had some sisters in our zone text us as we were in a lesson with an investigator and we felt prompted to leave so we ended the lesson right there on the spot our investigator understood and was totally cool and we left and so one of the sisters needed a blessing something happened and so we went and gave her one my companion admitted the oil and i gave the blessing and then after the blessing i told her to go to bed and that she would be healed in the morning and the next morning we saw her at conference she was perfectly fine! it was really amazing and such a blessing to be able to hold and use the priesthood as a service to all those that stand in need. i am grateful for that. another miracle is as we talk with EVERYONE, that is seriously the funnest to do just talking to random people all the time i love it. so as we were doing that we were driving to see a less active member and along the way if we see YSA people we pull over and talk to them and last night we did that and found like 2 guys that we are going to start teaching one of them wants to serve a mission so it was really cool also last night as we were out in downtown fresno we were on one street and just walked right around the corner and then we heard 4 gun shots go off on the other side of the corner hahaha it was so fun i didn't even feel threatened because i know i am doing what i should be. (by the way don't tell mom that one she will freak out)

Holy bible conference was super great i loved it so much i took for granted so much watching it and taking it in and just ahh i love it so much i love feeling the spirit and receiving revelation as i listen to the prophets and apostles speak. we had 3 investigators show up to conference and 1 to the priesthood session it was way cool. well i love you so much stay strong and review the talks over again i am so excited now to get the ensign haha i love it. Always stand in holy places and be worthy at all times of the spirits influence. The Church is SOOO True i love it so much! grow in testimony everyday and apply the Atonement Every Hour.

September 23, 2013

Well Like i said before i went to the temple and it was amazing i love the temple so much i attached a photo of me and my zone at the temple.

Well the next few days we taught some great lessons and finally set a baptismal date with an investigator we have been teaching for a while for nov. 9th it was great.
Also something really great was a while ago i was teaching a girl a lot i taught her for a long time her name was jessica she was jewish and then she moved so i lost contact with her for about 3 weeks but low and behold she called me and said she was getting baptized! and that she wanted me to confirm her a member and to recieve the holy ghost so i got to see that happen and had a baptism it was a miracle and just so awesome truly a blessing from heaven.

Also transfer calls were this week so transfers are this coming wednesday! Elder Lord got Transferred out of the area he is going to sanger to be with a different Elder so i am still in Academy YSA and i my new companion is Elder Oldham so we will be together and it is going to be awesome i am really excited oh yea and i guess i should tell you also I was called by President to be a Zone Leader so yeah it is crazy but going to be so great! September 18, 2013 (Wednesday - A Couple of days late)

We don't know why he is writing on Wednesday instead of Monday, didn't get a chance to ask.  Tamara and Brayden talked to Davey.

Tamara:
hey mom and dad!

Oh my, you are on. (this is mom)

i am on! ha

How are you?  I've been worried about you.  Are you healthy, in good spirit?

yup i am!

You are emailing at a fun time for Brayden cause he just got home from school.  He is excited about having a football game today.  Dad and I will get to watch him for about half of the game and then we are going to Chase's induction to the National Honor Society.  Brayden is a little bummed that we won't see his whole game but I told him sometimes dad and I have to support Chase too.\
I love the picture you sent of the vineyard.  Did you and Elder Lord get to do some service at it?

ya we do service for them and it has been really good i am sending the weekly letter now

We have had an ant infestation here at home.  Dad has been trying to kill them. He will kill them then the next we know they are back - darn ants.
What have you been doing these last two weeks?

ha that is awesome sounds like the family has been doing a lot!

I can't wait for your letter.  Did you get the pictures (Homecoming, ect.) and email I sent you?

ya i did i loved it well i hope shy is doing well and you all are! love you!

Weekly Letter:
That is so crazy your moving then?! ah i jsut still cant believe it sounds like the family is doing a lot though! so that is good chase and brayden are looking and sounding like they are doing real well!

Well shoot my week has been really great i just love being a missionary, just thought i would start it off by saying that.
so to start off with the worst thing well our investigator that was supposed to get baptized got hit by anti-mormon junk super hard! so we had to drop her it was super sad and frustrating cuz i after every lesson i warned her that this would happen and she was prepared and have spiritual confirmations that this is the true church but then that happened. so that was the downer of this week. but now for all good stuff we had a really great zone conference a lot of revelation came to me it was basically all on how we need to work with members betters. then the next morning we went and helped a member move a pool table that weighed a lot and it was a struggle but we did it! (i don't know why i mentioned that but there is a fun fact for ya'll) we are also still teaching nick our investigator he has great questions and is just super slowly progressing but he is awesome still! we go to the college a lot and share messages with people and give out a lot of copies of the book of mormon it is way fun i love it and people look at us so weird haha it is awesome. we have found a lot of new investgators this week and also dropped a lot which was sad but it had to be done! there were these two girls running one night and i stopped them and long story short we went over to there home and now they are investigating so that was really cool. then last night we stopped another two girls walking and long story short they wanted us to  preach in there church cuz they like us so much and wanted us to do a fireside in there christain church but we aren't allowed to so we declined ha
oh well i forgot my camera so i cant send pictures but next week i will!
something funny that happened Elder hassett and i were wrestling and of coarse he kills me haha but no we were wrestling and at some point i pick up elder hassett but then he gets ahold of me and slams me into the wall and my butt broke a hole in the wall of the appartment (i am totally fine no worries) hahah so there is a big hole so we have to pay for that...ha it was so funny though! then today we went to the temple and it is amazing i love it we saw the new temple video and it was awesome i loved it and just have been having a great time i love the mission! so ya that is all for now i don't know what else to add oh we are getting transfer calls this saturday then transfers are next wednesday! church is true! i love it!
Love Elder Moss!

A HOLE!  As I was reading your letter all I was worried about was that you didn't get anything broken and you wouldn't get hurt. I'm glad only the wall got hurt. (Side note: how much will it cost to get it fixed?)
Chase just walked in. He is going to write you.

Brayden:
hey Davey  I Love you .  I've made some good tackles in football and I almost got the ball on a fumble.  I have a game today.  I think of you every game... you are my idol.

goodluck today buddy i know you will do awesome!

Our last game we won by a long ways, 8 to 24 and the others we won 0 to 22, 0 to 32.  I got to be accepted to be on a LEGO building club.  We are going to get to build robots out of LEGOs.  I am really excited to do it.

no way you will be great at that! you are so awesome brayden i love you so much your the best at everything! how is reading your scriptures going?

Not that good.  The last time I read was about a week ago.

oh no! well shoot you gotta get on top of that man!

I will try - Love you

September 13, 2013

We received two letters in the mail today, one from Elder Lord,  Davey's companion, and one from Davey. Davey had included a picture in his of them both. The letters and photo are transcribed below:

The Moss Family,

First, I want to thank you for the wonderful son that you have sent on a mission, thank you for that.

Second, I also want to thank you for the letter/card that you sent me.  It means a lot to get letters every once in a while.

Third, relates back to your son being my first companion and also being my beautiful trainer.  He has helped me in so many ways and has taught me so much.  Thanks again for sending him out here and teaching him from birth the ways of the gospel, it truly shows by the way he acts out here.  He is a great missionary and a great friend.  Also, I hear his family is pretty cool as well and from what I can tell you all sound awesome!

I hear that you are moving to Salt Lake, that is great.  I love it up there but that's because I live up there but still it will be great.

Thanks again for all that you do.

With love,

Elder Lord

To the best family ever,

Right off the bat..Chase, tell me how and what all has been going on in your live, every little detail; and that goes for you too Brayden.

Thanks for the stamps and everything.  I love it and you're all so aswesome.  I love and miss you Mom and Dad.  I get to go to the temple on the 18th, I am super excited.

Hey, I know this is early but I know I will forget:  You have to send all Christmas packages by December 1st.  Just an early reminder, and that's only if you are going to get me anything.  I know Dad and he is probably like, "What makes him think we're even going to send him something?"  ha ha.

Love you all, have a great week!

Love,

Elder Moss

September 9, 2013

We weren't able to get on with Davey so this is what he wrote:

so your moving then haha that is super weird! and that is crazy but shoot well if you feel good about it then that is the way you should go.
Well this week huh? well not a whole lot happened we are preparing for a baptism this weekend her name is lauren so that will be great! President Gelwix when i was on an exchange with Elder Hassett we were walking at night and he pulled up and picked us up! it was fun he promised to take us to cheesecake factory i am so excited i haven't had cheesecake in forever! so i am looking forward to that! well i keep you in my prayers always expecially the boys so that they will remain great examples and stay strong in all they do. one of my favorite things to do is talk to random people ha it is so much fun and you get the best stories but i cant tell you some of them mom cuz they are pretty crazy! ha dont worry i only about got shot twice... ;) just playing! only once not twice  (still kidding) well it was so much fun i love going into the getto and it was also sad homeless people everywhere lined up on the streets and just it is crazy but i love it im not being stupid so don't worry. I have been on a lot of exchanges this week with the Zone leaders and Elders in my district so i don't have a lot to write. but when i was on a split elder hassett and i met this lady from the phillapins and she was so funny and cute! i will attach a picture of her but ya that was a fun time she told us about how she used to meet with missionaries but she isn't one. well i don't really know what else to put we taught a lot of people and it seemed like the theme this week was to live the law of chastity cuz people break it so much ahhhhh! but ya that was it just normal stuff teaching and testifying i have been super tired latley and we have transfers coming up in 2 weeks i think i am getting transfered idk yet though so ya but sorry it is short this week i love you all and care so much about you thanks so mcuh for the prayers i pray for you also! i want to hear from chase and brayden next week what all they are doing and whats all happening (friends, sports, ect.) love you and mom and dad i want to hear more about you to cuties ha

September 3, 2013

Davey wrote today (Tuesday) because it was a holiday yesterday.

Ok, I won't ask too much if you are going to write a big letter.  We so look forward to hearing the details about what you do each week.  We try and keep you informed also on what we are doing.  So let us know if we aren't living up to expectations on what your family is doing.  For example, when Katelynn and Jeff were down last week, they arrived late Friday night.  So, we didn't wake up till like 10am.  So, instead of breakfast we left here at like 10:45am and arrived at Olive Garden right when they opening and got their endless pasta bowl lunch for breakfast, it was pretty fun.  We wanted to include you so we sent your companion a gift card so he can take you out for the same thing.

ya and you don't have to spend so much money on me or my companion you are already so awesome and i love you all for all you do it is the best so thanks what else were you goin to ask me?

Yea, so don't tell him, let it be a surprise on the letter from us to your comp.  I was going to ask you about the ward, you said they were doing better at missionary work and coming along and helping more.  Also, you said you had several more investigators you found and taught first lessons to, how are they doing?  And the girl on the street that texted, did you end up meeting with her?  And, we haven't heard of Upain, are you still teaching him?  How is it with college going now?  Are things starting to pick up?  Is Elder Lord still a greenie?  Or has he been out long enough and learned enough from you to not be a greenie anymore? etc, etc.  Oh, and you were suppose to have a baptism on the 30th?

ya but they didn't come to church the bums...and i loved the voice mail hahaha it was wierd about the song.. haha chase i couldn't hear ya sing!
so the ward we have been setting  up member mission plans with them to get them doing stuff ha and we dropped upain cuz he is a bum and we are meeting with that girl this wednesday her name is sierra. and the college thing is way fun we just walk up to kids and ask to have a lesson then teach them a lesson right there on the spot! it is awesome!

I am so glad that things are going really great for you with the ward, and college starting, and some baptisms coming up, and meeting with the elders in your districts, and learning so much...I am just so happy for you!!!
I don't think you could hear Mom or I sing either as we didn't know the song.  Maybe a little advice on getting people to commit to things.  I have found that asking questions that causes them to think can be more effective and also, painting the picture for them using another person (not them) in the scenario is very effective.  For example, instead of saying will you be baptized?  Say, Do you think it would be important for someone who believes in Christ to follow his example?  Then when they agree to that ask the next question, will you follow Christ's example and be baptized?  For church say, I just told you that I know the church is true, would be important for someone looking at different churches to attend that church to see and feel for their self what it is like and if it is true?  Then when they say yes say,  Since you are looking, will you come to church this Sunday?  This gets them saying yes to something they haven't been included in because you're just asking about "someone" then once they say yes it might be easier to say yes again when you ask them and include them in the direct question.  Maybe your are already doing this - just a thought.

i love you thanks so much for the advice and i love it i actually have been doing those things we change things up all the time to have more inspired questions and doing all the things you said but thanks so much i love it!

Your welcome.  Mom was bummed that she couldn't be here.  She worked all morning at the elementary as one of the secretary's was gone.  She then went straight to work at Tuacahn, it will be a long day for her.

Alright i know i know the long anticipated letter about my week is finally here! ha so as you may know i don't know but we went to the church vineyard to pick grapes and now we are rolling them so that should be fun! this past week has been really great we taught over 20 lessons and had a lot of members present so that is great we are really trying to work with the members better and it is slow like i have said before but it is getting better. i went on exchanges a lot with elders in my district which went very well! also we had leadership training and learned about our role and the role of the holy ghost and personal revelation and a bunch of other stuff but i loved the holy ghost. there is a quote that says "what we do is a reflection of who we are" i love that and there is a video if you havent' seen it look it up on you tube it is called "missionary work and the atonement" it has elder holland and elder eyring talking in it. it is amazing. but ya receiving personal revelation was so great to learn about and just ahhh i love those meetings! so we met with our investigator nick and taught him a lesson and i gave him the dvd special witnesses of christ and nick he has said that he will never come to church and i don't know if this dvd changed him or not but we texted him and asked if we could meet and he said no hes busy but he wanted to meet us at church and he came to church and it was great! we also had another girl named lorin that came to church and we taught her a lesson that night and during that lesson she professed her love to elder lord and I hahahaha so she really loves me and my companion it was weird but we did set a baptismal date with her so now we just got to make sure she is doing it for the right reason! but those are just the high lights for this week! we have right now 2 investigators that have baptismal dates for this month! with a lot more on the way. i love you all and hope your week is great

August 26, 2013

Well shoot mom happy birthday! that is super exciting i am so glad you had a good time and also tonya. i wish you all the best i love and miss you so much! i won't lie i was planning on getting you something but i don't have money haha and hardly anytime. i will try to do something for you though! but it will have to be next week i am so happy for you and you mean the world to me! love you so much

well my week was really good we were supposed to have 4 people at sacrament meeting but we didn't :( they were bums and didn't show but the week was very good we had a member actually set up an appointment with us with one of her friends so that was great we invited her friend to be baptized and she accepted but then we found out that she wasnt' YSA age so we passed her off to the family ward ha but we had a lot of lessons with investigators that our members came out with us to so the member work is really picking up! and i am super grateful for that. i also went on two exchanges with some of the elders in my district elder burnham was first he is serving in clovis 7th ward and that went really well he is a hard worker and exactly obedient but he has a problem with teaching but over all just a really great missionary but he got his visa and went to argintina so he left today. then i exchanged with clovis 3rd ward elder wells, he actually came out the same time that i did so that was cool also he is a great missionary he doesn't talk to everyone but when we went out together we did and we found a lot of potentials for his area, there ward is really struggling we met with a family and tried to set up a mission plan for there family and the father was totally against it and did not want to do it! i was sad but they are working hard and just need the ward to pick up and help it is a slow process but they are improving which is great. i am really though trying to learn how to better help my district we have a lot of potential but i just am trying to learn what i can do better to have us all do amazing in our areas. but anyway this week was a blessing we found 4 new investigators and also taught a lot of lessons it just was a blessing and a fun story we were driving in the car one night and (this is how we do some of our finding) we saw this girl on the side of the road running so we quickly pulled over and stopped her and talked to her about the gospel and asked if we could share a message she said she didn't know so we then asked if we could get her number and shoot her a text on what she decides so the next day comes and we text her and she says she cant meet with us or anything so we got sad but i got the idea to say a prayer and i asked that she may be able to meet with us that a miracle could be preformed then after that i texted her and said well we respect that choice but if you could pray about it that would be amazing and she was like alright whatever. so a couple days passed and nothing happened then one day she texted us and said she prayed and that we could meet up sometime! so we are going to be meeting with her sometime this week! but ya it was really great but that was a bit about my week and everything just a lot of teaching and finding we went to the college and taught kids on the campus which was also fun so ya it was jsut a busy but very great week! i love you all and hope everything goes great this week!
